Portuguese scientists at a the Cenimat science lab in Portugal have discovered a way to create batteries out of paper. This incredible discovery comes off the heals of an earlier discovery by the same scientists who discovered that they can print transistors onto paper. The paper batteries are able to pull up a significant voltage, and interestingly are self-charging by using moisture in the air to regenerate. The batteries are only in the testing phase right now, but if and when they become a reality, it can open a new door into a whole world of merchandising and advertising the likes weโve never seen. This is a discovery worth keeping our eyes on.
